About the role
- Champion the product delivery in the fast-paced startup with a deep focus on quality, design & architecture.
- Own the technical roadmap for a product.
- Hire and provide leadership and oversight to a team of software engineers building solutions and capabilities at scale with high engineering and quality standards.
- Recruit the best by owning the recruitment processes for your teams.
- Engagement and collaboration with cross teams, architects, and other stakeholders to deliver on a common goal.
- Drive the adoption of key engineering best practices to improve the quality and reliability of the team's deliverables.
- Responsible for keeping the team engaged, motivated, and operating with a high execution velocity.
- Responsible for evaluating, coaching, and mentoring direct reports.
- Collaborate/communicate across global businesses and technology teams, providing sound business analysis and process.
- Build a collaborative and conducive environment for the team to deliver the best of their ability.
- Imbibe and maintain a strong customer service-oriented attitude while designing and building products.
Requirements
- Overall 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong technical depth in Java or a comparable object-oriented language, enabling architectural oversight and informed technical decision-making.
- 2+ years of engineering leadership experience, building, scaling, and mentoring high-performing teams delivering large-scale distributed systems.
- Demonstrated ability to hire, develop, and retain senior engineering talent, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Proven track record of delivering enterprise-grade, highly available, low-latency systems at scale, supporting high-throughput production workloads.
- Experience operating and managing production systems with strict SLA/SLO commitments, including incident response leadership, root cause analysis, and driving systemic reliability improvements.
- Strong expertise in designing and evolving RESTful APIs and microservices-based architectures, with an emphasis on scalability, resiliency, and observability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience collaborating cross-functionally across Product, Design, Infrastructure, and Leadership teams.
- Good to have experience working with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce or similar ecosystems), including understanding of CRM data models, API integrations, activity ingestion, revenue workflows, and sales process automation.
