About the role
- Daily utilization of GIS products and spatial databases: ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, etc.
- Interpret and digitize utilities maps and drawings for key internal and external stakeholders
- Conduct QA/QC on all digitized work products
- Process digitized data using ETL scripts
- Continuously test and implement new tools to improve processes.
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in utilities GIS
- Strong ability to interpret civil engineering plans, record drawings, and as-builts
- Bachelor’s Degree in GIS adjacent field (GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Computer Science, etc.)
- Knowledge of geospatial data formats (Geodatabase, Shapefile, GeoJSON, KML, CSV, REST Service, etc.)
- Basic SQL skills
- Experience with project management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated, ability to operate independently working remotely
- Eagerness to learn
- Able to work in Downtown KC 2-3 days per week
