About the role
- Lead the delivery of complex planning issues related to transit projects
- Analyze recommendations for City Planning Division and City Council
- Represent the City Planning Division in various community meetings
- Develop creative solutions for planning challenges
- Engage the public and stakeholders in the planning process
- Oversee consultants to ensure timely project completion
- Mentor other planners and contribute to a progressive culture
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in planning or related discipline
- Extensive experience in planning approval processes for large scale development projects
- Experience leading complex planning projects
- Community engagement and consultation experience
- Knowledge of the Planning Act and the City's Official Plan
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
- Project management skills
- Ability to lead assignments requiring critical judgment
- Proficiency in computer software (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to travel to work sites across the City
