About the role
- Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and staff, fostering a culture of trust, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Guide team through organizational changes, helping to implement a re-envisioned structure that improves clarity and efficiency.
- Drive employee engagement and retention through intentional recognition, career development planning, and consistent team connection.
- Establish clear alignment between daily operations and broader City, DOTI, and Right-of-Way Services goals, reinforcing purpose and impact.
- Evaluate and optimize business processes by identifying redundancies, simplifying workflows, and improving overall efficiency and customer experience.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs), process maps, and tools to ensure consistency, scalability, and independent staff execution.
- Promote cross-training and workforce flexibility to strengthen team coverage, reduce risk, and build organizational resilience.
- Lead organizational improvements by eliminating low-risk or low-value activities and supporting data-driven decision-making.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to enhance permitting operations, improve customer education, and support major city initiatives and development projects.
- Support regulatory modernization efforts by contributing to policy updates, process innovation, and a solutions-oriented approach to service delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field based on a specific position(s).
- Three (3) years of experience at the type and level of functional or operational management, which must have included management of professional individual contributors.
- Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
