Chief Marketing Officer

• Lead go-to-market strategy for new feature launches, product moments, and city expansions, coordinating across paid, organic, and press to bring Citizen to new audiences
• Support and grow strategic partnerships, identify new co-marketing and distribution opportunities, and serve as the marketing lead on deals that require cross-functional coordination
• Own ad hoc projects and initiatives as the business evolves, from rebrands to research sprints to new channel experimentation, with the range and judgment to prioritize without being told what matters

• Full ownership of paid install campaigns across Meta, TikTok, and Apple Search Ads with agency support
• Manage budget allocation across broad top-of-funnel campaigns and targeted new market launches
• Own creative testing frameworks, optimization cadence, and cross-channel attribution
• Creator program currently generates 13M video views per month, representing 10% of total monthly video watch time
• Manage billing, payment systems, relationship management, and quality tracking for an ongoing creator roster
• Goal: high-quality content that improves the in-app experience, increases time spent, and improves Week-1 retention
• Design and maintain the AI workflows that power the marketing operation: automated creative variants, real-time content monitoring, competitive intelligence, creator communications, and more
• Tools in current use: Claude, Perplexity, ChatGPT, Gemini, HubSpot
• The standard is AI running the execution layer with a human captaining strategy. You will be expected to push this forward, not catch up to it.

Director of Marketing

Mechanical Engineer

• Design and ship core notification experiences that drive retention and engagement, from UX flows and interaction patterns to the underlying rules that govern relevance, timing, and frequency.
• Own the end‑to‑end system for “real‑time safety” UX across notifications, feeds, and key in‑app surfaces, ensuring users feel informed, not overwhelmed.
• Prototype with code (web/mobile, whatever you’re fluent in) to explore interactions, flows, and ranking behaviors, and use those prototypes in‑person with the team to align Product, Engineering, Data, and Ops.
• Use AI as a first‑class tool in your workflow: concept exploration, research synthesis, design variations, microcopy, sound and motion studies, component generation, and scaffolding for front‑end implementations.
• Design persona‑ and segment‑aware experiences that flex by behavior, neighborhood, and intent, so different users get notification and feed patterns that feel tailored to them.
• Collaborate with Product and Data to define retention and engagement hypotheses, design A/B tests, and turn insights into clear system changes, not just UI tweaks.
• Partner with Operations and Trust & Safety to make sure workflows, tools, and UX support fast but responsible decisions about what gets alerted, when, and to whom.
• Raise the bar on internal tools and pipelines, designing and building small utilities, dashboards, and AI workflows that make the whole NYC team faster and more creative.

Senior Product Design Engineer, Notifications – Real-Time Safety

Customer Support

• Support the full enterprise customer lifecycle, owning the end-to-end customer experience from trial through renewal to ensure long-term success and satisfaction.
• Provide hands-on support for enterprise customers during onboarding, including structured trial education to ensure stakeholders understand product value, use cases, and success criteria from day one.
• Guide customers through implementation, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless setup.
• Deliver ongoing product education through tailored resources and real-time support to drive adoption across enterprise users.
• Provide ongoing proactive and reactive support for all enterprise customers, acting as a trusted advisor to resolve issues, optimize usage, and identify expansion opportunities.
• Work cross-functionally to help manage renewal cycles by tracking customer health, demonstrating ROI, and partnering with account teams to secure long-term retention and growth.
• Offer real-time support to Premium subscribers through video, call, or chat during safety-related situations.
• Ensure all sessions are answered and resolved within defined SLAs; quickly triage session severity and escalate through 911 protocols when necessary.
• Respond to inbound support inquiries from Citizen app users across multiple channels, ensuring timely response and resolution.
• Track and share user feedback with relevant cross-functional stakeholders, including Product and Engineering teams, to inform ongoing improvements and resolve app-related issues.
• Review inbound video footage across creator channels, including Citizen app users, contractors, and external partners.
• Provide hands-on support to video creators, including real-time coordination of footage distribution, account billing, and related operational needs.
• Manage inbound inquiries from law enforcement agencies, including data requests and time-sensitive escalations, in accordance with established protocols.
• Work cross-functionally to obtain necessary data and/or information to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant responses to all law enforcement inquiries.
• Serve as the primary support contact for external partners, providing timely and effective assistance to maintain and strengthen working relationships.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to stay informed on upcoming product launches and operational workflows, ensuring top-tier support and guidance for external partners.

Customer Experience Specialist

Accounting Manager

• Own and manage the month-end close process across core accounting areas, including revenue, COGS, operating expenses, accruals, prepaids, payroll, AP, AR, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, flux analyses, and supporting schedules to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain a clean, scalable, and business-relevant chart of accounts that supports management reporting, investor reporting, audit readiness, and long-term financial visibility.
• Own revenue accounting processes across Citizen’s consumer and enterprise revenue streams, including recurring billing, revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and customer/vendor reporting.
• Design and improve scalable billing and revenue recognition workflows as Citizen expands its enterprise business.
• Partner cross-functionally on new product or monetization initiatives to assess accounting treatment, operational requirements, and reporting implications.
• Ensure revenue processes are accurate, repeatable, and aligned with GAAP and internal reporting needs.
• Prepare and present clear monthly financial reporting packages, including balance sheet and P&L variance analyses, operating expense trends, COGS reporting, and contribution margin insights.
• Translate accounting results into business-relevant insights for the CFO, executive team, board materials, investor materials, and cross-functional leaders.
• Improve reporting structures so financial results more accurately reflect Citizen’s operating model and strategic priorities.
• Support planning and forecasting processes, including headcount, contractor spend, non-headcount opex, and other operating cost analyses.
• Lead company’s annual financial audit, including coordination with external auditors, preparation of audit schedules, process walkthroughs, and timely resolution of requests.
• Support internal control readiness and process documentation across key areas such as revenue, AP, AR, payroll, and financial reporting.
• Research and apply latest accounting guidance, including accrual accounting, revenue recognition, and emerging technical accounting topics.
• Prepare well-supported accounting analyses and memos for complex or judgmental accounting matters.
• Lead the modernization of Citizen’s accounting workflows by identifying opportunities to move recurring finance tasks from manual assembly to AI-assisted review, analysis, and decision support.
• Design and implement AI-enabled improvements across bank and credit card reconciliations, expense categorization, AP/AR aging management, board reporting, and cash flow forecasting.
• Develop automated close packages, budget-versus-actual reporting, variance commentary, recurring financial dashboards, and audit/compliance documentation.
• Help modernize accounting workflows through Claude/Cowork, ChatGPT, Gemini, and other AI-enabled finance systems where they improve speed, accuracy, scalability, or reporting quality.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement by using automation and AI to reduce manual work, shorten close timelines, improve accuracy, and free the finance team to spend more time on analysis, insights, and strategic decision-making.
• Serve as a trusted finance and accounting partner to all business leaders.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives that require strong judgment, clear communication, and alignment across multiple stakeholders.
• Surface risks early, propose practical solutions, and drive projects to completion with a high degree of ownership.
• Provide guidance, training, and support to team members and cross-functional partners on accounting processes, policies, and reporting expectations.
