About the role
- Develops strategic marketing plans, considering agency strengths, competitors, and market conditions
- Identifies and secures profitable new business opportunities in target markets and develops and implements strategic plans
- Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with key agencies by providing tailored insurance solutions
- Educates agencies on product features, market placement, and effective selling techniques
- Drives revenue growth by achieving or exceeding sales targets
- May develop and execute cross-selling and up-selling strategies
- Conducts market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats
- Prospect for new Agency appointments within assigned territory
- Find, onboard, and develop new agency relationships
- Attend truck conferences throughout the year with occasional (rare) weekend travel
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
- A minimum of 5 years of related underwriting or business development experience is required
- Previous trucking or commercial auto experience is strongly preferred
- Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation and organizational skills
- Ability to travel weekly within the territory
