Analyze customer networks, identify solutions, and plan integration/conversion requirements to meet customer needs
Implement upgrades to customer in-service networks without service disruption, including channel additions, node insertions, traffic migrations, and hardware/software upgrades
Create and own Engineering Method of Procedures (EMOP) and support field execution remotely for modernization projects
Plan, develop, and execute customer network modernization plans through the EMOP process
Ensure solutions are technically viable, meet customer requirements, and maximize benefit to Ciena
Deliver and manage network engineering documentation for customers via the Detailed Network Design service offering
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
Proficiency in Ciena products, particularly 6500, RLS, and Waveserver
Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent presentation and customer service abilities
Extensive technical expertise in optical networking with hands-on experience
Systems-level understanding with the ability to learn and apply new concepts and technologies quickly
Proven ability to work effectively within a high-performance team
Flexible and capable of handling multiple tasks with minimal supervision
Expertise in problem-solving down to the design level and translating solutions back to engineering for resolution
