About the role
- Organize and direct assigned resources including people, equipment, and supplies that support provision of care
- Assist the Manager to ensure smooth function of the department
- Maintain excellent working knowledge of all respiratory care policies and procedures
- Work in a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment
- Provide overall coordination and delivery of illness management and health promotion for patients and families in assigned areas (Critical Care ICN, PICU and ED areas, UCC, medical/surgical units, and/or Outpatient Clinics)
- Establish respiratory processes using scientific principles to provide safe, high quality, comprehensive, and age appropriate respiratory care
- Provide educational development, student experiential rotations, research, quality improvement and assurance, and act as a liaison with medical staff and all other hospital personnel
- Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with other Clinical Supervisors and multidisciplinary team
- Coordinate PTO/vacation with night shift clinical supervisor to ensure consistent leadership presence
Requirements
- Associate's Degree required and 3-5 years experience
- Bachelor's Degree preferred and required within 2 years of start date and 3-5 years experience
- Licensed Respiratory Therapist MO
- Licensed Respiratory Therapist KS
- Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Certified Neonatal Pediatric Respiratory Therapist (must obtain within 180 days) or equivalent
- RRT Registered Respiratory Therapist
- PALS, NRP & BLS are required upon hire
- Employees must be willing to be vaccinated for influenza and possibly MMR, varicella, Tdap if non-immune or lacking records
