About the role

  • Organize and direct assigned resources including people, equipment, and supplies that support provision of care
  • Assist the Manager to ensure smooth function of the department
  • Maintain excellent working knowledge of all respiratory care policies and procedures
  • Work in a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment
  • Provide overall coordination and delivery of illness management and health promotion for patients and families in assigned areas (Critical Care ICN, PICU and ED areas, UCC, medical/surgical units, and/or Outpatient Clinics)
  • Establish respiratory processes using scientific principles to provide safe, high quality, comprehensive, and age appropriate respiratory care
  • Provide educational development, student experiential rotations, research, quality improvement and assurance, and act as a liaison with medical staff and all other hospital personnel
  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with other Clinical Supervisors and multidisciplinary team
  • Coordinate PTO/vacation with night shift clinical supervisor to ensure consistent leadership presence

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree required and 3-5 years experience
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred and required within 2 years of start date and 3-5 years experience
  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist MO
  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist KS
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Certified Neonatal Pediatric Respiratory Therapist (must obtain within 180 days) or equivalent
  • RRT Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • PALS, NRP & BLS are required upon hire
  • Employees must be willing to be vaccinated for influenza and possibly MMR, varicella, Tdap if non-immune or lacking records
