About the role
- Lead and develop the Ontario sales team, setting objectives, call cycles, and channel priorities to achieve growth targets.
- Create and execute the annual Provincial Business Plan (sales and expenses) in alignment with company strategy, monitor KPIs, and adjust tactics to maximize provincial growth.
- Drive provincial sales performance through innovative and disciplined execution of marketing programs and retail initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and provincial liquor board buyers, including submissions for new products, tenders, and pricing approvals.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, finance, and category teams to identify growth opportunities, overcome strategic challenges, and expand market share.
- Strategically review distribution and rate of sale at retail through the management of the sales team’s promotional efforts, merchandising, and displays.
- Spend time in the field with the sales team to coach, mentor, and develop talent, ensuring high performance and alignment with overall strategy.
- Function cooperatively within a team environment, contribute to company objectives, and lead initiatives that drive organizational growth.
Requirements
- University degree with 5–7 years of sales experience, including at least 3 years in a team lead or management role within the beverage alcohol or CPG industry.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire and grow a high-performing sales team.
- Strong existing trade relationships and experience working with Ontario liquor board buyers are highly desirable.
- Analytical, strategic, and growth-oriented, translating data and market insights into actionable plans.
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Entrepreneurial, proactive, and comfortable driving change and challenging the status quo.
- Knowledgeable in trade marketing, category management, and commercial finance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
