About the role

  • Conducts their testing in accordance with the corporate test policy and test strategy.
  • Follows the standard test process across all phases of testing that they are involved with.
  • Assists the test manager on project activities, such as and not limited to demo’s, collating information for reports.
  • Leads other testers in specific testing activities.
  • Documents test results for traceability.
  • Configures test environments to execute tests.
  • Escalates risks and blockers to the test manager.
  • Ensure that their tests are picked up in Standard Reports and Closure reports.
  • Work with the technology teams to continually improve the processes.
  • Shares knowledge and documents useful information uncovered for the benefit of the project.
  • Provide support and guidance on the automation of new features and functionality.
  • Extend existing automation tests and develop new tests as required.
  • Continually monitor and improve maintenance overhead of automation test execution.
  • Definition of test data and providing insight into data management and tooling.
  • Development of additional system stubs and test harnesses to facilitate specific types & levels of testing.
  • Raising, triaging and resolving issues alongside deep dive issue investigation and replication.
  • Generating new and updating existing system and engineering documentation.
  • Creating a variety of test related reports for varying stakeholders and audiences.
  • Assist in regular reviews of existing processes with the aim of improvement and efficiency.
  • Monitor and control deployments into QA environments as part of the CI/CD process.
  • Focus on becoming an SME on specific business functionality.
  • Support defect and production Incident triage and resolution.

Requirements

  • Degree/Advanced degree and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with various aspects of systems testing.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of software testing process, methodology and good practices.
  • Good understanding of testing methodologies and their application within an agile delivery framework.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience.
  • Experience with Python (preferred) or Javascript/Typescript beneficial.
  • Experience with AWS services and automated test tools is beneficial.
  • Ability to draw in and coordinate resources from across the business in order to address issues.
  • Experience managing small to mid-sized technical team.
  • Motivated to solve quality problems being pragmatic and results focused.
