About the role
- Own the user experience function across development organization, ensuring product decisions grounded in human-centered design
- Translate research and stakeholder input into clear design requirements and proof-of-concept sketches
- Guide the UX/UI design team toward consistent, scalable, and human-centered outcomes
- Establish a repeatable, research-informed design process bridging discovery and delivery
- Calibrate with stakeholders using rough proof-of-concept sketches, whiteboarding, journey maps, and rapid idea testing
- Oversee designers in evolving design system and accessibility standards
- Partner with Senior Director of Product Development and engineering leaders to align design requirements with product strategy and technical feasibility
- Engage stakeholders across marketing, enablement, and customer success to integrate user feedback loops
- Support UX/UI designers by embedding research throughout the design process
Requirements
- Proven UX research or product design leader with 5+ years of experience
- Strong foundation in research methodologies, human-centered design
- Ability to translate insights into early visual artifacts (proof-of-concept sketches, user flows)
- Skilled at planning and conducting user interviews, usability testing, surveys
- Experience leading user experience research for complex platforms (e.g., edtech, SaaS ecosystems)
- Experience in building and operationalizing research repositories, overseeing design system integration, and accessibility practices
- Strategic thinker and collaborative leader, comfortable influencing at the executive and cross-functional level
