About the role

  • Oversee the relationship management and operational performance of third-party mortgage subservicers.
  • Establish and maintain governance frameworks for monitoring subservicer performance, including SLAs, KPIs, and reporting standards.
  • Conduct performance reviews and operational assessments to ensure compliance with company expectations, investor requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with Compliance and Risk teams to ensure adherence to federal and state servicing regulations.
  • Review servicing reports, portfolio performance metrics, and borrower outcomes to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate with Capital Markets and Finance teams to support servicing strategy, portfolio analysis, and investor reporting.
  • Lead issue resolution and escalation processes with subservicers to address operational or compliance matters.
  • Oversee onboarding and implementation of new subservicing partners, including operational readiness and process alignment.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting on servicing performance, portfolio health, and operational risks for leadership.
  • Partner with internal teams to continuously improve oversight processes, documentation, and operational controls.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of oversight activities to support regulatory examinations and internal reviews.
  • Support long-term servicing strategy by evaluating subservicer capabilities and alignment with growth objectives.

Requirements

  • Required: 10+ years of experience in mortgage servicing with direct exposure to Non-QM loan products or Non-QM servicing environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage servicing operations, including payment processing, escrow management, loss mitigation, default servicing, and borrower communications.
  • Experience managing or overseeing third-party mortgage subservicers and vendor relationships.
  • Deep understanding of mortgage servicing regulations, including CFPB rules and investor guidelines.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate servicing metrics and portfolio trends.
  • Proven leadership with ability to influence cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • Experience supporting regulatory examinations, audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Ability to operate strategically while addressing operational and performance details.
