About the role

  • Lead global regulatory matters from first question to final answer, including diligence, import/export compliance, submissions, and consultations
  • Translate dense regulatory text into clear playbooks, templates, and guardrails that help teams move faster with confidence
  • Partner daily with Sales, Security, Product, HR, Procurement, and Ops to support global go-to-market and market expansion
  • Track regulatory and legislative developments worldwide and quickly separate what matters from what does not
  • Build scalable regulatory processes that work across regions and grow with the company
  • Step in beyond core regulatory work when needed, bringing high judgment, low ego, and a strong bias toward action
  • Balance regulatory, security, and compliance risk with business momentum by focusing on what actually matters

Requirements

  • Law degree such as an LLM or equivalent and qualification in at least one European jurisdiction
  • Six or more years of regulatory experience, ideally a blend of top-tier law firm and in-house roles
  • Deep expertise in EU and UK regulatory frameworks impacting software, open source, digital services, and emerging technologies
  • Proven experience working with regulators, managing cross-border regulatory issues, and driving regulatory strategy
  • Builder mindset with a track record of creating guidance, templates, playbooks, or processes from scratch
  • Strong business intuition and comfort advising on real-world tradeoffs rather than theoretical risk
  • Clear, confident communicator who builds trust across technical, commercial, and operational teams
  • Energy for fast-paced, ambiguous environments where the playbook is still being written
  • Bonus points for commercial, employment, and/or tax experience.
Benefits
  • Flexible & Remote-First Culture: Work remotely with team meetup opportunities, bi-annual destination summits, and a monthly stipend for coworking spaces, phone and internet costs.
  • Our Approach to Equity: Receive stock options upon hire and promotion. Plus, you can participate in secondary offerings and have 10 years to exercise your options (yes, you read that correctly: 10 years!).
  • 100% Covered Health Insurance: We cover 100% of your health, vision and dental insurance premiums for you and your dependents. Nothing comes out of your paycheck.
  • ∞ Flexible Time Off: Take the time you need – to do our best work, we need to recharge and reset.
  • 18 Weeks Paid Parental Leave: We offer 18 weeks for birthing parents and 12 weeks for non-birthing parents, with the option to use it all at once or throughout your child's first year.
