About the role
- Chainguard mission: make the software supply chain secure by default and provide guarded open source software.
- Develop and lead strategic reseller partnerships that drive adoption of Chainguard across State and Local Government and Higher Education (SLED) institutions.
- Identify, recruit, onboard, and manage SLED-focused resellers and partners with emphasis on DevSecOps.
- Develop joint business plans to drive revenue growth, pipeline development, and successful customer outcomes.
- Enable partners through training, marketing resources, and ongoing support to ensure successful delivery of Chainguard products to government customers.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, product, and legal to support the SLED partner ecosystem.
- Monitor partner performance and provide regular reporting on key metrics, opportunities, and challenges.
- Forecast accurately in SFDC and other sales tools to meet and exceed quota.
- Maintain strong understanding of FedRAMP, StateRAMP, CMMC, NIST, SBOMs and government cybersecurity and procurement trends.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Partner Sales Experience in Public Sector (required)
- Competitive/Driven/Doer and Team Player
- Excellent communication skills verbal and written
- Must be willing to travel to clients to support partner relationships (25%)

- Proven track record of building and scaling a SLED Reseller community, driving bottom-line revenue growth through strategic partnerships, quota overachievement, and strong customer references.
- Strong sales aptitude and fundamental understanding of the sales process.
- Tech-savvy business acumen and ability to articulate a compelling value proposition in complex and evolving business environments.
- Ability to thrive in an agile environment with an ever-evolving set of solutions.

- Bonus: Domain experience with Compute platforms (Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), DevOps Tooling, CI/CD platforms (Github, Gitlab, Jenkins) and overall SDLC.
