About the role
- Lead, mentor, and empower a team of Technical Release Managers, fostering a culture of ownership, continuous learning, and excellence.
- Define and execute the strategic roadmap for the Release Operations team, ensuring it aligns with company-wide goals.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for release-related issues and escalations, working with senior stakeholders to resolve challenges and mitigate risks.
- Drive the evolution of our release processes and tooling, championing initiatives that improve efficiency, quality, and predictability.
- Establish and maintain a robust set of release metrics and reporting dashboards to provide clear visibility into the health and performance of our delivery pipeline.
- Oversee the high-level management of release-related risks and major incidents.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience managing or leading a team of technical professionals, preferably in a release management capacity.
- 5+ years of experience in release management, software development, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and release management principles.
- A strong understanding of CI/CD concepts and tooling.
- Demonstrated experience in building, mentoring, and scaling a team of engineers or technical managers.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior leadership, engineering VPs, and cross-functional teams.
- Experience in establishing and monitoring key metrics (e.g., release predictability, lead time, deployment frequency) to drive data-informed decisions and improvements.
- Proficiency with project management and ticketing systems, particularly using Jira for advanced reporting and process tracking.
