About the role
- Participate in architecture discussions, system reviews, design planning, and technology roadmap planning for desktop integration efforts
- Act as SME for development and implementation of Desktop OS images
- Engineer large-scale software deployment solutions using MECM and MDT
- Develop tests and implement software distribution packages and updates across enterprise endpoints and servers
- Provide information and recommendations to meet user-based software requirements
- Implement server OS deployment methodologies and automated server build processes
- Support OS patching infrastructure (HCL BigFix or Windows Update/MECM) for mandatory security updates
- Analyze, evaluate, and recommend hardware (desktops, laptops, tablets, servers)
- Perform security tasks including documentation, vulnerability scan review, assessment support, patch management, and auditing
- Collaborate with team to integrate Windows 10 images with Microsoft Exchange, Office, and 3rd party applications
Requirements
- Acts as the Subject Matter Expert for the development and implementation of the Desktop Operating System (OS) Images
- Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT)
- Develops tests and implements software distribution packages and updates for desktops, laptops, tablets, and servers
- Strong familiarity with scripting languages such as Powershell and VB script
- Implements server OS deployment methodologies including automated server build processes
- Provides support for OS patching infrastructure such as HCL BigFix or Windows Update/MECM
- Analyzes, evaluates, and recommends desktop, laptop, tablet, and server hardware
- Performs security related tasks: documentation, vulnerability scan review, assessment support, patch management, auditing
- Experience integrating/upgrading Windows 7 to Windows 10 and upgrading Microsoft and 3rd party applications
- Experience with litigating software such as Ipro and Concordance
- VPN/Remote access experience (Cisco Secure Access with RSA a plus)
- Microsoft Office engineering experience
- VB and/or VBA coding experience a plus
- VDI/Citrix experience
- SMS/SCCM experience a plus
- Understanding of PKI
- VMWare experience
- Good writing skills
- Ability to work independently with only minor guidance
