About the role
- Support DOJ Office of the Comptroller by managing accounts payable, reimbursements, collections, and account oversight
- Verify, analyze, and maintain financial information used by the DOJ Office of the Comptroller
- Use UFMS, JEDI/JEDI-2, SAFARI, E-2, SAMS.gov and other systems to analyze complex data sets and record/retrieve financial data
- Track expenditures across multiple accounts using a financial management system and generate weekly reconciliation reports
- Prepare financial reports and documentation for review and signature by DOJ management and other U.S. Government agencies
- Assist other DOJ sections with UFMS transaction processing and system error resolution suggestions
- Compose memorandums, correspondence, forms and financial documents; manage databases and office files; schedule and assist with web conferences and events
- Perform other duties as assigned and contribute to team efforts
Requirements
- Two-year degree in accounting OR four-year degree in a related field with 30 credit hours in accounting
- Knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems used by banking, financial and other institutions
- Experience working with commitments, obligations, and interagency reimbursement agreements
- Experience working with the quarterly review, accrual and closeout process
- Ability to provide analysis and technical support for a variety of financial activities
- Ability to identify and analyze changes in budgetary and/or financial activities
- Ability to research and analyze financial data
- Must be a US Citizen upfront
- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
- UFMS, JEDI, SAFARI, E-2, and Excel proficiency (preferred)
- Accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R) management and processing (preferred)
- Reimbursable agreements analysis and management (preferred)
- Obligations processing and committed funds tracking (preferred)
- Auditing and accounting services, cash flow and statistical analysis (preferred)
- Financial fraud-related research, electronic data acquisition and processing (preferred)
- Systems analysis and administration, database user support, reporting, and record management (preferred)
- Business legal compliance, special projects, analytical and critical thinking, time management and organization (preferred)
