About the role

  • Support migration from Oracle to Microsoft Azure Postgres
  • Manage and proactively maintain Postgres database environments
  • Ensure scalability, availability, performance, and resilience of data systems
  • Implement backup and disaster recovery procedures
  • Monitor systems, perform patching, rollouts, and upgrades
  • Assist developers with performance tuning and troubleshooting
  • Create and maintain technical documentation using templates
  • Work within a structured Agile development approach and collaborate with stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Must be US Citizenship
  • 7 years of experience with administrating PostgreSQL Databases in Linux environments
  • Experience with setting up, monitoring, and maintaining PostgreSQL instances
  • Experience with implementing and maintaining PostgreSQL backup and disaster recovery processes
  • Experience migrating Oracle schema, packages, views, triggers to Postgres using Ora2Pg tool
  • Drive efforts to migrate from Oracle to Microsoft Azure Postgres
  • Create and maintain technical documentation
  • Collaborate with internal and external parties to translate technical objectives into requirements
  • Ensure availability, performance, and resilience of database systems
  • Performance tuning and assisting developers
  • Proactively monitor, patch, and upgrade database systems
  • Experience implementing and maintaining data warehouses (ideal)
  • Experience with AWS RDS for PostgreSQL (ideal)
  • Experience with Oracle databases (ideal)
  • Experience with cloud environments such as Azure and/or AWS (ideal)
  • Prior federal consulting experience (ideal)
