About the role
- Project management
- - Lead multiple simultaneous SOX projects at different stages of maturity (new implementations, recurring projects, limited-scope engagements).
- - Execute projects with full autonomy, without constant supervision.
- - Set realistic timelines with clients and internally.
- - Be recognized as the primary point of contact by the client and by management for each project.
- Engagement management
- - Plan and supervise teams of varying seniority according to project needs and scope.
- - Effectively manage team workloads while meeting milestones and delivering on time and within budget.
- - Actively monitor budgets and anticipate variances; obtain client approval before performing any additional services.
- - Ensure accurate timesheets and control budget variances and billing.
- - Regularly communicate project progress (email, phone, video conference, or in person) to the client and the Partner in charge.
- Technical expertise
- - Full mastery of SOX implementation for newly public companies, including designing controls appropriate to management maturity, providing practical guidance, and managing/remediating deficiencies.
- - Expertise in drafting and reviewing control descriptions, organizational charts, process narratives, and in defining the scope of systems and applications.
- - Deep knowledge of Big Four methodologies for sampling, testing, and evaluating deficiencies.
- - Proven experience reviewing SOC 1 Type II reports and mapping CUEC (key user/entity controls), including for third-party service providers.
- - Good understanding of IT general controls (ITGCs), SEC guidance related to SOX requirements by filer type, and PCAOB and ISA standards.

- - Lead by example.
- - Provide real-time constructive feedback and formal evaluations.
- - Identify development opportunities and assign staff strategically.
- - Maintain team motivation and cohesion.
Requirements
- More than 10 years of experience, with part of that experience gained at a Big Four or a leading national firm.
- Strong hands-on experience implementing SOX, acting as an expert on implementation projects.
- Fluent in English.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, autonomous, ethical, and reliable.
- Business school degree, university degree in accounting, or a related field.
- CPA and/or DEC combined with strong accounting experience appreciated but not required.
- Excellent interpersonal and writing skills, comfortable integrating into teams.
- Understanding of client-service demands and flexibility to handle unforeseen circumstances (schedules, travel) to meet deadlines and requests.
