About the role

  • Proactively identify and escalate risk concerns to management while partnering with Treasury team members to investigate and resolve issues.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for all existing and new Middle Office processes.
  • Keep documentation current through regular updates.
  • Maintain the team’s Confluence page and ensure materials are clearly structured and accessible.
  • Ensure proper setup and maintenance of static and market data (curves, securities, generators, limits, pricing, yields).
  • Confirm that all data requests comply with Central 1 policies and procedures.
  • Escalate any requests outside policy to Risk Management for approval.
  • Ensure trades and transactions are accurately recorded in the system of record.
  • Verify compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Analyze reports to monitor trade compliance and prevent fraudulent or harmful activity.
  • Perform daily transaction verifications, end-of-day rating reviews, and off-market testing.
  • Perform key compliance and control procedures to ensure the integrity and accuracy of Treasury activities.
  • Support prevention of fraudulent or harmful trading.
  • Apply limits in accordance with internal policies.
  • Conduct new product and counterparty reviews.
  • Complete daily verification processes.
  • Administer the credit union custody program. Ensure transactions are entered accurately and on time into the system of record.
  • Manage collateral in accordance with collateral agreements. Ensure deadlines and minimum requirements are met. Monitor margin calls and resolve disputes promptly.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager, Middle Office. Provide backup support for team members when required.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related quantitative field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 1–3 years of experience in risk management, finance, or treasury, preferably within a treasury middle office or compliance/control function.
  • Knowledge of treasury markets and products such as fixed income, derivatives, futures, options, foreign exchange, and securitization is an asset.
  • Understanding of liquidity, market, and traded credit risk concepts and measurement techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and quantitative accuracy.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • High integrity and commitment to strong control practices.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams (Risk, Front Office, Operations) and resolve conflicts constructively.
  • Confidence to question senior staff and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Adaptability and responsiveness in a fast-changing environment.
