  • The Senior Program Director provides senior strategic leadership to drive large-scale organisational reform and transformation initiatives. The role is responsible for ensuring complex programs are aligned to strategic priorities and deliver meaningful operational outcomes through strong governance, cross-agency collaboration and effective program oversight. This position plays a critical role in guiding reform initiatives from strategy through to implementation, ensuring sustainable change and measurable improvements in organisational capability..

Requirements

  • **What you'll do:**
  • - Lead the coordinated delivery of multiple complex and interdependent projects across digital, policy, legislative and operational domains.
  • - Translate national reform requirements and policy expectations into practical solutions that can be effectively implemented within an operational environment.
  • - Develop and maintain structured program plans, including sequencing of initiatives, management of dependencies and oversight of program milestones.
  • - Maintain disciplined program governance, including oversight of scope, risk, funding and reporting to executive leadership and cross-agency governance forums.
  • - Monitor program performance and adjust program sequencing where required to respond to evolving timelines, operational pressures and funding arrangements.
  • - Ensure reform initiatives are embedded within operational teams and deliver measurable improvements in organisational capability and performance.
  • - Represent the organisation in national and inter-jurisdictional forums, contributing to reform discussions and ensuring organisational interests are effectively represented.
  • - Build and lead a high-performing program team to deliver outcomes within complex, high-profile and high-accountability environments.
  • - Support broader organisational reform agendas by integrating recommendations from reviews, strategic initiatives and policy changes into program delivery.
  • **What you'll bring:**
  • - Demonstrated senior leadership experience delivering large-scale enterprise programs or reform initiatives with strategic accountability.
  • - Extensive experience managing multiple complex projects concurrently, including digital transformation, operational change and policy or legislative reform.
  • - Experience operating within government or similarly complex regulatory environments.
  • - Strong program governance capability including risk management, funding oversight, benefits realisation and executive reporting.
  • - Experience working across multi-agency or national reform environments involving complex stakeholder and governance arrangements.
  • - Strong understanding of the intersection between digital system uplift, legislative reform, data integrity and workforce capability.
  • - Highly developed stakeholder engagement and executive communication skills, including preparation of senior governance and executive documentation.
  • - Ability to operate effectively in environments characterised by ambiguity, evolving policy settings and compressed delivery timeframes.
  • - Demonstrated leadership capability building and managing high-performing program teams.
  • - Formal program or project management qualifications are desirable.
