About the role
- Lead and manage the team developing firmware for Celestica’s or Celestica’s customer products, ensuring timely delivery and highest quality standards
- Drive software development processes (such as Agile, Scrum) and comply with product life cycle (phase/gate) deliverables
- Coach and mentor the team; set yearly plans and goals; provide regular performance evaluations and ongoing feedback
- Take the lead in project planning and scheduling; take responsibility for non-technical elements (people, financials)
- Review and interpret customer requirements/specifications and act as primary customer contact
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware design, other software teams, program and product management
- Provide recommendations for continuous improvement and work with team to elevate technical skills and apply best practices
- Be accountable for department objectives and achieving agreed targets for key performance indicators
- Keep up to date with relevant industry knowledge
- Perform duties in a normal office environment; occasional travel may be required
Requirements
- 18+ years of experience
- Prior experience in firmware development
- Strong leadership, excellent planning and communication skills
- Experience with Agile, Scrum and compliance with product life cycle (phase/gate) deliverables
- LINUX Kernel/drivers
- PCIe
- BMC
- BIOS/BSP
- Networking
- Data path knowledge
- CPU/GPU based compute server development/management exposure
- AI workload/Orchestration
- Bachelor degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and act as primary customer contact
- Occasional travel may be required
