About the role

  • Drive the development of the site Planning and Inventory strategies and incorporate the Planning and Inventory vision into all elements of the plan.
  • Monitor team performance and metrics; manage a team of direct and indirect resources to support execution of strategy deployment plans.
  • Serve as customer interface from SCM, manage relationship and act as focal point for SCM related issues.
  • Support new business quotes and product ramp as key corporate stakeholder for the supply chain.
  • Design the supplier portion of the materials supply chain and support supplier identification and development.
  • Support efforts to reduce material cost, assess/respond to supply risks and manage supplier contracts and agreements.
  • Drive working capital assumptions in quotes and lead SCM optimization to achieve/exceed quoted turns and plan.
  • Drive customer engagement on demand planning, demand management & collaboration and improve the process.
  • Develop delivery requirements, material plans and short-range capacity plans to meet production schedules and inventory objectives.
  • Manage materials availability across product life cycle and own SCM portion for customer QBRs, escalations and KPI improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure contractual claims for SCM related costs are recovered (e.g. E&O, premium, NRE).
  • Provide direction and support on SIOP, GAP inventory reviews and Strategic Inventory proposals.
  • Ensure Celestica compliance with customs and regulatory laws and drive supply chain improvement initiatives with sites.
  • Coach cross-functional teams and provide direction on material pricing & costing, supplier performance, site localization strategies, demand/supply and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Materials Management, Engineering or related field (educational requirements may vary by geography).
  • Broad knowledge of an electronic manufacturing environment, materials and processes.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of global supply chain management, distribution methods, global transportation services and inventory management.
  • Strong understanding of IT concepts and integrated business applications.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation and problem resolution skills.
  • Significant skills required in multi-tasking and time management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Good knowledge of the marketplace conditions for a broad range of strategic commodities in industry pricing, technology, supply/demand and emerging trends.
  • Ability to lead complex negotiations effectively.
  • Ability to interface with many international sites and establish strong working relationships and cooperation.
  • Ability to effectively lead, manage, train and motivate a diverse group of employees.
  • Occasional overnight travel is required.
