About the role
- Own our social media strategy across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Reddit and emerging channels that matter to creators.
- Create original, social-first content, including talking-to-camera videos, reactive posts, explainers, and experiments that educate, entertain, and build trust.
- Lead content experiments: new formats, series, hooks, creator-style storytelling, and timely trend adaptations (when they actually make sense for us).
- Translate complex topics like piracy, impersonation, and AI misuse into content people want to watch and share.
- Lead and mentor a team to produce unpredictable content that creators want to save and share.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing, Product, Sales, and Leadership to ensure social supports broader business goals.
- Manage the content calendar and confidently break it when the internet gives us a better idea.
- Work closely with the Community Manager to engage with the community thoughtfully, especially in moments where conversations get nuanced or heated.
- Track performance, analyse what’s working, and continuously raise the bar on creative quality and clarity.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of experience managing social media for a brand, platform, publisher, or creator-led business.
- Proven experience creating content yourself, not just briefing others.
- Strong on-camera presence and comfort being part of the content.
- Deep understanding of internet culture, platform behaviour, and why some things work while others flop.
- Excellent copy instincts and experience balancing brand voice with speed, relevance, and experimentation.
- Confidence working in a trust-sensitive category without sounding corporate or dull.
- Ability to work independently, make fast decisions, and own outcomes.
- Experience using tools such as HubSpot, Canva.
