About the role
- Backtesting and methodology creation to support new index strategies
- Research, create and support the index development initiatives for Cboe Global Indices with a focus on equities and options
- Help build and standardize modular index calculation frameworks in Python, enabling efficient development and maintenance of new and existing indices
- Evaluate new data sets for usage in index calculation, looking at data quality, completeness, and fit for index purposes
- Participate in client meetings to develop new index concepts, providing direction and analysis to convert client ideas into viable index methodologies
- Work collaboratively with other Cboe departments on new index launches, as well as post-launch support
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field required. Advanced degree preferred.
- Strong quantitative and programming skills; experience in Python, R and SQL with preference to Python
- Experience with written documentation of projects
- Experience using Git or other version control software
- Familiarity with options pricing, volatility surfaces, or derivatives markets
- Strong problem solving skills
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects independently and collaboratively
- Exposure to writing APIs to access various databases
- Exposure to index construction, factor investing, or systematic strategy research
