About the role
- Lead and manage projects from initiation to closure, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and schedule
- Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, risk management, and communication strategies
- Oversee budgeting and financial planning for projects while monitoring performance against approved budgets
- Ensure project documentation is thorough and up to date, including project charters, risk registers, and status reports
- Utilize organizational standards and project management techniques to ensure consistent execution and delivery
- Serve as the key liaison between internal teams, external stakeholders, and vendors
- Monitor and assess team performance, foster collaboration, and resolve conflicts to maintain project momentum
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks, addressing organizational and project challenges effectively
- Regularly report project status, issues, and challenges to senior management and other stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement, leveraging post-project reviews to refine project management practices
- Other duties as assigned; reports to Program Manager; may travel for business or professional development
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Systems, or a relevant discipline
- Advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in project management
- Proven ability to manage highly complex projects independently, including multi-million dollar software and IT projects
- Certification in Project Management by a recognized project management organization or Scrum Master a plus
- Skilled in managing project implementations across large organizations; developing and managing project plans; documenting risks, issues, and contingency plans
- Ability to research, gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts; devise solutions; prepare concise reports
- Experience overseeing the development of SDLC artifacts and ensuring business requirements translate into technical specifications
- Experience developing and maintaining strong relationships with multiple project sponsors and stakeholders
- Ability to appropriately summarize and escalate issues and develop and present weekly status updates and conduct regular project team meetings
- Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Agile methodology experience; managing feature-driven sprints
- Must be able to pass a background check (may require additional background checks as required by projects/clients)
- Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written; strong presentation skills
- Self-starter; able to work independently and as part of a team
- Highly motivated with the ability to handle and manage multiple tasks at any one time
- Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties for extended periods; ability to work on-site per hybrid schedule
