About the role
- Design, update, and maintain operational cyber training modules and materials, including lesson plans, practical exercises, and assessments, for XCOMM Ops trainees.
- Ensure technical accuracy, relevance to mission needs, and consistency with evolving client standards and frameworks.
- Develop training scenarios that simulate real-world incidents and threats to XCOMM operations.
- Deliver in-depth, hands-on training to diverse audiences, including military operators, cyber analysts, and support teams.
- Lead facilitation of classroom-based, virtual, or in-the-field training sessions, utilizing advanced instructional tools and methods.
- Support XCOMM Ops teams by providing mission-critical insight into communications systems vulnerabilities, security protocols, and cyber risk mitigation strategies.
- Conduct research on emerging cyber threats specific to XCOMM operations and integrate findings into the training program.
- Actively participate in operational exercises and evaluations to provide technical expertise.
- Develop assessment tools to evaluate trainee performance and proficiency.
- Identify areas for improvement in student outcomes and adapt instructional materials accordingly.
- Prepare after-action reports, lessons learned, and recommendations for incorporation into future training iterations.
- Coordinate with technical writers, SMEs (Subject Matter Experts), and policy advisors to ensure training alignment with operational objectives.
- Interface with program managers and client stakeholders to ensure training objectives and deliverables are met on schedule.
- Assist with training solutions proposal development for contracts when required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree (STEM field) or approved equivalent experience
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility is required
- IAT level II certification required
- 3 years’ cyber-related duties / experience / roles. Examples include knowledge in command line interface across various operating systems, host/network analysis, forensic analysis, scripting languages, terrain mapping, network fundamentals, and/or familiarity of cyberspace defense actions and missions supporting USCYBERCOM.
- 4 – 6 years’ expeditionary/tactical communications or equivalent experience
- Bachelor’s degree (STEM field) or approved equivalent experience
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility is required for Senior position
- IAT level II certification required for Senior position
- 5 years’ cyber-related duties / experience / roles, such as knowledge in command line interface across various operating systems, host/network analysis, forensic analysis, scripting languages, terrain mapping, network fundamentals, and/or familiarity of cyberspace defense actions and missions supporting USCYBERCOM for Senior position
- 5 – 8 years’ expeditionary / tactical communications or equivalent experience for Senior position
- 200+ instructor podium hours or CCAF ISD certification and/or 400+ instructor hours (on podium) OR CCAF ISD certification for Senior position
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a clear, professional, and articulate manner
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail
- Ability to analyze systems and procedures
- Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple design streams across concurrent work effort
- Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional team
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
