About the role
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and document business requirements and objectives.
- Analyze existing processes, systems, and workflows to identify areas for improvement.
- Translate business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications.
- Research, evaluate, and propose technology solutions to address business challenges and improve efficiency.
- Design and document processes, systems, and workflows aligned with organizational goals.
- Work with development teams to ensure solutions meet business requirements and are technically feasible.
- Serve as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Support testing efforts by validating functionality against requirements and identifying issues.
- Analyze business data to uncover trends, insights, and opportunities for optimization.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of existing solutions to identify areas for improvement.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies and trends to drive innovation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s-level degree from a recognized college or university
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience applying analytical processes on an IT project worth at least $2M
- At least three (3) years of that experience must have been in business systems analysis and design
- A minimum of three (3) years of progressively complex experience (two (2) of which were in a lead capacity)
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience (within the last five (5) years) as a business analyst
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience utilizing requirements management tools (e.g. JIRA)
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in analyzing legislative mandates and regulations
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in working with the California Department of Technology (CDT) Project Approval Lifecycle (PAL) process
