About the role
- Research, plan, outline, write, and edit a comprehensive RFP for a large-scale IT system replacement.
- Collaborate closely with agency staff, executive leadership, and subject matter experts to gather requirements and validate technical content.
- Develop and organize technical specifications and supporting documentation.
- Ensure all RFP content complies with State of Maryland procurement standards and minimum requirements.
- Translate complex technical and business requirements into clear, accurate, and well-structured documentation.
- Edit and proofread content to ensure clarity, consistency, accuracy, and completeness.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout the documentation process.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience as an IT Technical Writer.
- Proven experience developing Requests for Proposal (RFPs) or other complex IT technical documents for large-scale organizations, including state or federal agencies.
- Experience writing technical documentation, standards, and procedure manuals for diverse audiences.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong ability to research, analyze, and synthesize complex information.
- Thorough understanding of IT terminology, systems, and industry standards.
- High attention to detail and strong editing and proofreading skills.
