About the role
- Responsible for the design and integration of turbomachinery Packaging systems
- Designing packaging systems and equipment layouts
- Selecting and integrating components into complete packages
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives, new product development, and operational optimization
- Independently investigate mechanical, hydro, shop, and field issues related to Solar Turbine products packaging systems
- Develop and implement effective solutions to a wide range of shop and field problems
- Responsibilities to develop P&ID for Gas Fuel, Lube Oil, Liquid Fuel, Air Supply, Start, Compressor Seal, Water wash & Turbine systems being used in Gas turbines
- Present and review your work in design review meetings to ensure alignment with engineering objectives
- Lead and guide engineering teams in executing major projects
- Coordinate with several functional teams to progress the design intent
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience in engineering / design execution
- Significant Mechanical design and engineering involving Turbomachinery Packaging System design
- Knowledge of discipline-related industry standards, including ASME B31.3
- Comprehensive knowledge with Creo applications
- Strong knowledge of design and drafting techniques to include fabrication drawings
- Familiarity with gas turbine manufacturing processes, quality standards, design methodologies, and analysis practices
- Must apply practical design considerations and utilize technical knowledge to achieve design objectives relative to manufacturability, cost, quality, and durability
