About the role

  • Create user-centered designs by understanding business requirements, user needs, and technological capabilities/constraints.
  • Design wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes that effectively communicate design concepts.
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and validate designs to ensure they meet user needs.
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to define and implement innovative solutions.
  • Maintain design systems and ensure consistent user experience across all Caseware products.
  • Stay current with UX design trends, tools, and emerging technologies in the accounting and audit software industry.
  • Create and maintain detailed design documentation including user flows, interaction models, and design specifications.
  • Help resolve customer-impacting design issues with the quickest and safest resolutions.
  • Contribute to the overall design strategy and vision for Caseware’s products.
  • Assist in cross-department design initiatives that enhance the overall product ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A hands-on approach—you thrive in ambiguity, move quickly, and work closely with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders.
  • 8 or more years of experience in user experience or related fields.
  • Strong interaction and visual design skills, with a portfolio that highlights your design thinking.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills to explain design decisions and collaborate across teams.
  • Proficiency with design, prototyping, and AI tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, etc.
  • Solid understanding of design systems and component-based design.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and designing for diverse user needs.
  • Understanding of responsive design principles and cross-platform user experiences.
  • Bonus points for experience designing for accounting or financial services, understanding AI ethics and trust frameworks.
