About the role

  • Conducts and/or oversees equipment inspection and repair activities to ensure proper functioning.
  • Responsible for on-site preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration after installation.
  • Conduct fieldwork with controllers and associated components; perform point-to-point inspections and functional system checkouts.
  • Test project programs to ensure specified sequences of operation are met and performed to industry standards.
  • Create submittals, read and understand project specifications, MEP drawing sets, controls and shop drawings.
  • Partner with sales to set parameters for equipment needs and project timeline; submit material orders to purchasing.
  • Document and track project completion with as-builts and final program notation with all field changes; assemble Operation & Maintenance Manuals.
  • Utilize company and customer standard programs to design graphic function blocks and perform graphics engineering (equipment and floor plan graphics).
  • Assist in development of functional checkpoints for commissioning and work with Commissioning Agent when required.
  • Serve as a resource to solve highly complex problems and complete assigned projects focusing on customer satisfaction and specification compliance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of experience in Building Automation, HVAC, or technical field.
  • Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment over 8 feet above grade.
  • Capable of lifting items up to 50lbs.
  • Valid and current Driver’s License and can be insurable by the company’s insurance.
  • Bachelor’s degree, Associate degree, Technical/Business School Certificate or Diploma in HVAC, Controls, or related field. (preferred)
  • Knowledge of computers, setup procedures, and networking systems. (preferred)
  • Previous experience in AutoCAD and Bluebeam. (preferred)
  • Working experience with Carrier i-Vu, Tridium or BACnet systems. (preferred)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite. (preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. (preferred)
  • Knowledge in DDC control theory and applications pertaining to the HVAC/Control. (preferred)
  • Prior experience in HVAC and/or Building Automation. (preferred)
  • Expert with TCP/IP networks including wireless technology. (preferred)
  • Experience interacting with a large and diverse number of simultaneous challenges, requiring knowledge of multiple disciplines. (preferred)
