About the role

  • Lead backend architecture and implementation across products, with emphasis on scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Ramp fast on workflows and translate domain understanding into clear technical plans and execution.
  • Own backend changes: API design, service refactors, data model evolution, and performance tuning.
  • Provide technical leadership through code reviews, design guidance, and production support leadership when needed.
  • Partner with product and engineering leadership to sequence work, reduce risk, and drive decisions.
  • Harden the system with better observability, incident readiness, and reliability guardrails.
  • Improve engineering velocity through reusable patterns, documentation, and working agreements.

Requirements

  • 8+ years building production backend systems, with recent hands-on coding
  • Strong experience as a Lead/Staff Engineer or Tech Lead in .NET (C#) and/or Java ecosystems
  • Demonstrated success improving performance and reliability (latency, throughput, availability, cost)
  • Experience building service oriented systems (APIs, integrations, authentication and authorization)
  • Operational discipline: logging/metrics/tracing, alerting, incident response, and root cause analysis
  • Clear communicator who can drive alignment across engineering and product stakeholders
  • Nice to have FinTech, payments, billing, invoicing, or other high-volume transactional domain experience
  • Event-driven architecture experience (queues/streams; async workflows)
  • Experience modernizing legacy systems with incremental migration and deprecation plans
  • Logistics, cargo, or supply chain experience
  • Spanish language proficiency.
