About the role

  • Responsible for design, installation, technical support and broad debug of PLC, HMI, servo, robot, CNC and/or vision-based hardware and software
  • Help establish new standards and maintain existing standards while having experience with Industry electrical codes, safety standards, ethernet protocols, etc.
  • Controls lead for any Capital Project
  • Responsible for the integration of the machines and the systems to minimize downtime
  • Provide sound technical knowledge and consultation in areas of manufacturing automation and system controls integration
  • Solve daily problems that may arise due to manufacturing technologies applied in a variety of systems
  • Provide input and support for development of requirements for integrated manufacturing systems
  • Ensure all documentation, configurations and software are maintained and organized as part of the equipment
  • Maintain and promote organized work areas and equipment at desk and shop floor
  • Facilitate meetings with proper cross functional members, while ensuring documentation and follow-through of action items
  • Clearly communicate any concerns/issues related to manufacturing systems to appropriate audience
  • Be a leader within the corporation
  • Mentor ME I and ME II engineers to raise their skill levels
  • Provide support for other projects and complete additional tasks as assigned
  • Initiate assessment of safety control requirements and ensure they are properly implemented into the integrated system.

Requirements

  • 8-15 years related experience
  • Associate Degree
  • Non-degree considered if 8+ years of related experience along with a high school diploma or GED
  • Must have valid driving privileges
  • Must be willing and able to travel, including internationally and overnight (5-20%)
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in electrical / Controls / Computer Science Engineering/Mechanical, or equivalent, or Technical Degree with experience developing integrated manufacturing equipment or systems.
  • Knowledge of wide range of concepts, practices, and procedures for integration.
  • Demonstrate sound analytical and decision-making process.
  • Outstanding communication skills to facilitate discussions within cross-functional teams.
  • Adaptability and ability to prioritize and support multiple projects at once.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and take on tough challenges with energy and positivity.
  • Consistency and dedication in achieving quality results, even under variety of circumstance.
