About the role

  • Review equipment telemetry, alarms, logs, and performance trends to prioritize issues and site visits.
  • Build weekly and monthly maintenance plans to balance corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance, and customer priorities.
  • Travel to customer sites to execute service work safely and efficiently, often independently.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues (which may include sensors, wiring, power supply, valves/actuation, pressure regulators, enclosures, and instrumentation).
  • Use structured troubleshooting: isolate faults, confirm root cause, implement corrective actions, and verify the fix with data and functional testing.
  • Escalate appropriately when needed, while still owning follow-through to resolution.
  • Respond to technical customer requests via phone/email and create/maintain service cases in the customer service case module application.
  • Provide clear troubleshooting guidance remotely, then determine if an on-site visit is required.
  • Communicate updates, timelines, and action plans to customers in a timely manner.
  • Perform field calibration. Validate system performance post-repair using defined acceptance criteria and documented results.
  • Support new installs/commissioning as required (as a secondary responsibility, depending on business need).
  • Prepare service reports detailing issue description, root cause analysis, and corrective actions taken.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements, which can include procedural fixes, parts changes, firmware adjustments, and training gaps.
  • Partner with the R&D Engineer to action field learnings and assist in reducing repeat failures.
  • Adhere to all site-specific safety protocols and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed documentation for all service activities. Apply lockout/tagout procedures where applicable.
  • Represent the organization professionally at all customer sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Controls, Chemical, Process, or Civil Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in field service, industrial maintenance, or controls and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems using a multimeter and basic test equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs.
  • Working knowledge of PLCs, I/O modules, ladder logic programming, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus, serial communications).
  • Familiarity with service case management tools, documentation standards, and customer-facing technical communications.
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills.
  • Understanding of reliability engineering concepts, including MTBF/MTTR, failure mode analysis, and corrective action tracking.
  • Experience in industrial environments; background in concrete industry operations is an asset.
  • Proficiency with collaboration and service software platforms such as Slack, Smartsheet, Salesforce, and the Atlassian suite.
  • Comfortable working independently, planning travel, managing tight deadlines, and operating in a highly variable environment with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel frequently (40%+ within the U.S. occasional international travel may be required).
