About the role
- Lead the negotiation, drafting, and continuous improvement of our core B2B legal agreements, including our Master Subscription Agreement (MSA) and key commercial frameworks.
- Support the Sales team in enterprise deal negotiations, providing pragmatic, risk-based guidance.
- Train and educate the Sales team on our contractual framework, key risk positions, and negotiation boundaries.
- Develop and maintain practical negotiation playbooks, fallback positions, and guidance materials to enable Sales to handle standard negotiations independently and efficiently.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a range of commercial agreements, including partnership agreements, supplier/vendor agreements, license agreements, and NDAs.
- Review and update product terms and conditions for new and existing products.
- Maintain and streamline legal templates and educate internal teams on their use.
- Drive and support our global privacy and compliance efforts, with a focus on GDPR and other applicable data protection frameworks.
- Maintain and update Records of Processing Activities and lead or support Data Protection Impact Assessments where required.
- Oversee vendor due diligence reviews of third-party systems and perform risk assessments related to data processing activities.
- Review and negotiate Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) with customers and sub-processors.
- Partner with the Product and Technology team to embed privacy-by-design principles into our development processes.
- Support the completion of enterprise customer security and compliance questionnaires.
- Advise internal stakeholders on data protection and broader regulatory frameworks (e.g., marketing and consumer protection laws).
- Continuously improve internal compliance processes to ensure scalable and efficient governance.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel on privacy, compliance, intellectual property and regulatory matters.
Requirements
- 2+ years of legal experience, ideally in-house at a globally operating software or technology company.
- Strong working knowledge of GDPR; familiarity with additional privacy frameworks (especially U.S. privacy laws) is an advantage.
- Experience negotiating commercial agreements and data processing agreements.
- Interest in privacy governance, regulatory developments, and building scalable compliance processes.
- Ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives in a pragmatic, solution-oriented way.
- A clear and confident communicator, capable of translating complex regulatory obligations into practical, business-friendly guidance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
