Lead legal partner for marketing, messaging and personalization infrastructure
Provide proactive, business-minded legal advice to senior product leaders on the evolution of our marketing platform, focusing on privacy-by-design principles
Work on projects that unite lines of business; investigate business processes to inform legal guidance
Act as subject matter expert on ad tech legal issues, including digital tracking technologies and data management
Advise on data privacy laws and regulations, including the GLBA, CCPA, and evolving state and international frameworks
Work with regulatory subject matter experts on novel issues and translate legal requirements between business and legal teams
Partner with business team and supplier management to negotiate commercial agreements with ad tech vendors, data providers, and marketing partners
Build processes, playbooks, and training materials to enable marketing and product teams
Review product feature changes for regulatory compliance and draft user-facing content, product terms and disclosures, and assist with strategic partnerships
Perform legal research on the application of existing and new laws to novel implementations of technology and develop legal theories to influence business strategy
Requirements
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
Active member in good standing of at least one state bar
At least 5 years as an attorney in a law firm environment, at a government agency, as a military judge advocate, or as in-house counsel
At least 5 years of experience in law practice focused on privacy, ad tech, and product counseling
Preferred: 8+ years experience in law practice focused on data privacy and security laws, including regulations like CCPA
Preferred: 8+ years experience focused on the legal aspects of ad tech, including online tracking technologies and affiliate data sharing
Preferred: In-house product counseling experience supporting ecommerce, mobile apps, payments or software products and/or agreements
Preferred: Strong written and oral communication skills
Preferred: Ability to build strong relationships across teams
