About the role

  • Perform comprehensive physical inspections of apartment buildings, including building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical), structural integrity, roofs, and exterior grounds.
  • Ensure all inspections meet specific agency guidelines.
  • Produce detailed, photographic reports outlining the current condition, necessary repairs, and estimated costs (Immediate Repairs and Replacement Reserves).
  • Identify deferred maintenance, safety hazards (like mold, water damage, or electrical issues), and compliance with local building codes.
  • Access a representative sampling of apartment units to verify conditions and compliance with property standards, typically coordinating access with property management.
  • Conduct walkthroughs of large properties, including climbing ladders to inspect roofs and walking around extensive grounds.
  • Prepare loan and portfolio level status reports as requested.
  • Comply with all Investor monitoring and reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in commercial real estate, property management
  • At least 2 years of GSE experience (Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac) or CMBS experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or Economics (preferred)
  • At least 4 years of experience in commercial real estate, property management (preferred)
  • At least 3 years of GSE experience (Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac) or CMBS experience (preferred)
  • At least 3 years of experience with loan asset management (preferred)
  • At least 3 years of experience conducting site inspections with a firm understanding of MBA Guidelines (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac inspection requirements (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Property Condition Assessments (PCAs)
  • Ability to use cameras and software for data collection and report submission.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
