About the role
- Perform key privacy compliance activities on the second line of defense
- Help manage privacy risk
- Actively follow privacy trends across the country
- Maintain subject matter expertise of applicable privacy laws and regulations
- Provide advice and effective challenge on privacy risks
- Advise business lines on application of privacy requirements and controls
- Participate on complex projects providing guidance and advice
- Engage with others within the department
- Travel to various Capital One locations as necessary
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or military experience
- At least 7 years of privacy, compliance, risk management, legal or audit experience
- Juris Doctor or Master’s degree preferred
- 8+ years of privacy, compliance, risk management, legal or audit experience at a financial institution preferred
- 3+ years of experience in strategic consulting and strategic initiative management preferred
- 3+ years of people management experience preferred
- Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified Risk Professional (CRP) or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) preferred
