About the role

  • Bring linguistic and cultural knowledge to all aspects of localisation for French users
  • Create Canva’s voice across all parts of the product in French
  • Translate key content and manage relationships with localisation partners
  • Develop/update style guide and glossary
  • Review/evaluate translations and provide cultural insights
  • Identify opportunities for localisation improvements
  • Assess and source new LSPs
  • Address linguistic questions and triage testing results

Requirements

  • Natural at writing clear, fun, and engaging content
  • Passionate about languages and cultures
  • Understand how language impacts product experience
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a strong bias towards action and ownership
  • Copy-writing experience preferred (maintain a blog, experience in localisation for SaaS product)
  • Expert with CAT tools (Smartling preferred)
  • Solid understanding of organic growth (SEO)
  • Design experience or familiarity with design tools preferred
