About the role

  • Design and execute packaging across our product range — from concept through production-ready files
  • Create and adapt dielines for new and existing products; work with structural packaging as needed
  • Manage artwork updates, setup, and versioning across SKU families while maintaining brand consistency
  • Produce 3D mockups for internal reviews and retailer presentations
  • Prepare production-ready files with correct bleeds, colour profiles (CMYK/Pantone), barcodes, and dieline specs
  • Resize, retouch, and colour-correct product and lifestyle photography for use in packaging and print marketing
  • Ensure all imagery meets print reproduction standards and brand colour consistency
  • Collaborate with photographers and retouchers to optimize assets for both print and digital use
  • Design seasonal lookbooks, sell sheets, retail toolkits, point-of-purchase displays, and tradeshow booth materials
  • Support retailer-specific assets and campaign adaptations while maintaining Canada Pooch brand standards
  • Help elevate how the brand is experienced in retail environments across North America
  • Manage multiple packaging and retail projects simultaneously with strong attention to timelines and deliverables
  • Take ownership of projects from brief to execution with minimal oversight
  • Work closely with the Senior Art Director and broader Marketing team on integrated campaigns
  • May support digital marketing initiatives as needed, adapting creative across channels

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Packaging Design, or a related field
  • 4–6 years of experience in a graphic design role with a strong focus on packaging and print materials (in-house or agency)
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign; motion experience is a plus)
  • Solid understanding of print production processes and file preparation
  • Experience preparing files for offset and digital printing
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to execute against creative briefs with accuracy and consistency
  • Comfortable taking creative initiative and working independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Organized, adaptable, and able to manage shifting priorities
  • Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills - comfortable presenting work and articulating design rationale
  • Pet enthusiast (strongly preferred!)
  • GTA-based and available to come into our Toronto office at least one day per week
