About the role
- Guide the development and implementation of thought leadership research and campaign.
- Establish positioning pillars and messaging frameworks for executive voices; ensure consistency across channels.
- Lead a cross-functional editorial council to prioritize topics, accelerate activities, and sequence campaigns.
- Develop and implement integrated communications strategies aligned with Canada Life’s corporate objectives.
- Partner with colleagues across teams, including brand, digital, and marketing, to drive multi-channel distribution strategy.
- Oversee communications planning, measurement, and reporting to ensure effectiveness and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public relations, or related fields.
- Proven leadership experience in a complex, matrixed organization, preferably in financial services or insurance.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong storytelling ability.
- Experience managing media relations, crisis communications, and executive communications.
- Strong strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and project leadership skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related discipline; Master’s degree or professional designation (e.g., APR) is an asset.
