About the role
- Develop and implement the Foundation’s annual and long-range development plans, serving as the primary lead to providing vision, strategy, leadership, and management of the Foundation’s philanthropic activities
- This will include but is not limited to; annual campaigns, major giving activities, foundation/corporate giving and planned giving
- Will work in conjunction with the Executive Director in developing, implementing, and maintaining a successful donor cultivation and stewardship program to include creating systems and processes for prospect research, gift processing, donor acknowledgment, and ongoing reporting systems
- Responsible for creating and managing the Foundation’s annual development budgets
- Partner with appropriate departments at CAN as appropriate to execute donor outreach activities
- Maintain the Foundation’s donor database and track fundraising metrics to help evaluate effectiveness of campaigns
- Work with the Executive Director to properly promote activities to donors through the Foundation’s website, social media channels, and through other traditional communications activities
- Cultivate ongoing partnerships with philanthropic, corporate, and community organizations aligned with the Foundation
- Represent the Foundation at local and national conferences and community events
- Research, write and manage grant proposals and develop required reports
- Responsible for raising the profile of the program of work at the Foundation as well as CAN Community Health to potential funders
- Attend Foundation board meetings when required

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and five (5) years direct related work experience OR nine (9) years direct related work experience
- Previous experience with setting organizational revenue/expense budgets, creating and executing annual fund-raising plans and developing long-range strategic plans
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong communicator, including verbal, interpersonal, and written skills
- Willingness to travel within the United States as needed
- Ability to pass Level I background check (Level II may be required)
