About the role
- Develop, implement, and oversee all HR strategies, policies, and programs that advance CIPC’s mission
- Provide strategic leadership for talent acquisition and workforce planning
- Design and continuously improve onboarding, orientation, and staff development systems
- Lead employee and participate in labor relations
- Oversee performance management, feedback, and professional development frameworks
- Direct benefits administration and ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws
- Analyze workforce and HR data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Lead organizational Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) initiatives
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for CIPC’s statewide infrastructure
- Lead organizational budgeting and financial operations
- Establish and maintain organizational policies, procedures, and systems
- Oversee organizational technology systems and infrastructure
- Partner with development leadership to strengthen fundraising, grant management, and donor stewardship
- Lead vendor management and contract negotiations
- Develop and oversee safety, risk management, and compliance protocols
- Provide strategic oversight for planning and execution of organizational events
- Serve as a core member of CIPC’s management team and contribute to organizational strategy
- Create and sustain a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team culture
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in human resources and operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior management role
- At least 5 years of nonprofit experience with an understanding of nonprofit finance, governance, and operations
- Comprehensive knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices
- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Experience managing multiple office locations preferred
- Proven ability to develop and implement organizational policies and procedures
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead complex initiatives
- Excellence in team management and staff development
- Experience working in diverse, multicultural environments
- Ability to lift 20-30 pounds, sit and stand for extended periods
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
- Proficiency in non-English languages spoken by Latinx, Asian, Pacific Islander, African, Caribbean, and Middle Eastern communities is a plus
- Passionate about immigrant rights and social justice, including CIPC’s mission and vision.
