About the role
- Lead enterprise-level network support and modernization for the U.S. Air Force's most mission-critical infrastructure
- Oversee complex break/fix efforts, lead troubleshooting across routers, switches, and firewalls
- Provide engineering-level input for site surveys, installations, and network documentation
- Work with enterprise and data center network technologies—including DMVPN, EIGRP, BGP, and automation tools—to deliver resilient network performance
- Ensure alignment with cybersecurity, SLA, and DoD modernization objectives at CONUS installations
- Maintain and fix legacy wired solutions in response to network faults, errors, incidents, and problems
- Provide touch labor for all network devices and supervise break/fix and maintenance activities
- Monitor network assets per SLAs and ensure maintenance of multiple network enclaves
- Perform site surveys, configuration and engineering, installation planning, and documentation services
- Analyze network protocols, routing standards and procedures, traffic patterns, and data flow
- Communicate clearly and present products and ideas in a business-like manner
Requirements
- Active secret clearance
- Some locations may require an active TS/SCI
- Technical BA/BS degree OR High School diploma or associate degree with minimum of 10 years experience
- 7 years with bachelor’s degree (or commensurate experience)
- Experience maintaining and fixing legacy wired solutions in response to network faults, errors, incidents, and problems
- Provides touch labor for all network devices
- Oversees monitoring of network assets per SLAs
- Supervises break/fix and maintenance activities
- Experience with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls; support for other vendor products
- Fundamental understanding of network engineering concepts
- Extensive experience and technical knowledge of both Enterprise and Data Center networks
- Experience with network security technologies
- Experience working with DMVPN technologies, EIGRP, BGP
- Experience with network automation technologies
- Troubleshoots complex problems to closure
- Performs site surveys, configuration and engineering, installation planning, and documentation services
- Analyzes network protocols, routing standards and procedures, traffic patterns, and data flow
- Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Willing to travel (Up to 25%)
- DoD 8570 IAT III Baseline Certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or CCNA-SEC or equivalent)
- CCNP, CCDP, or equivalent (desired)
- ITIL v3 or ITSM experience (desired)
