About the role
- Serve as the technical lead and product architect for ServiceNow-based solutions.
- Be responsible for all aspects of application architecture including data models, integrations, automation, security, and platform configuration.
- Maintain a sound understanding of enterprise- and program-level architecture.
- Liaise with Business Analysts to understand business needs and design solutions that meet those needs while complying with architectural standards.
- Present and evangelize solutions to architecture guilds and management.
- Work with Business Analysts and Scrum Masters to create implementation plans by developing epics and user stories.
- Lead technical aspects of Agile ceremonies, including platform demonstrations to Product Owners and stakeholders.
- Guide team members in breaking stories into tasks and completing work efficiently.
- Mentor developers and testers, fostering a collaborative environment where questions and concerns are encouraged.
- Keep current with ServiceNow platform capabilities and industry trends.
- Delegate technical tasks and ensure sprint and release objectives are met.
- Perform and participate in architecture design and reviews, ensuring alignment with future-state goals.
- Identify architectural risks, opportunities, compliance issues, and technical debt.
- Participate in sprint planning, testing, demonstrations, retrospectives, and solution releases.
- Review cybersecurity assessments and static code analysis results and define remediation actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or related technical discipline.
- 7+ years’ experience related to the role.
- Professional experience operating within cross-functional teams and groups.
- Three (3) to Five (5) years’ experience in incremental software development projects such as the Agile Scrum approach.
- Proven experience delivering custom and scoped applications on the ServiceNow platform, ensuring solutions meet business and technical needs.
- Strong proficiency in ServiceNow application design, configuration, and scripting, including hands-on development within platform modules.
- Deep understanding of data modeling, access control mechanisms, and platform security best practices to ensure secure and scalable implementations.
- Experience designing, implementing, and supporting integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub, and MID Servers.
- Ability to guide Agile teams through technical decision-making, solution design, and issue resolution, supporting iterative and collaborative delivery.
- Demonstrated capability to anticipate architectural challenges and propose practical, forward-thinking solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with developers, program managers, testers, and operations teams to deliver high-quality solutions efficiently and iteratively.
