About the role

  • Provide leadership to the General Ledger Team including ownership of the account’s preparation process for management, group and statutory reporting
  • Lead on VAT and Corporation Tax reporting and all Finance compliance tasks
  • Management and development of General Ledger team
  • Improve and test the I&F Finance internal control environment, including designing and implementing robust internal controls
  • Identify control gaps and implement remediation actions to strengthen compliance
  • Act as a key point of contact for tax advisors, external auditors, internal auditors, BV Group Finance, and HMRC
  • Ensure timely preparation of audit deliverables and act as the main contact during audits
  • Lead VAT return preparation and EC sales submissions
  • Manage preparation and filing of UK statutory accounts
  • Lead the corporation tax return preparation process
  • Lead month-end reporting for the GL team ensuring accurate and timely completion
  • Own the accounts preparation process for management, group, and statutory reporting
  • Ensure accurate month-end close processes including balance sheet reviews

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA)
  • Strong experience in financial reporting, audit, and financial control
  • Proven financial management experience
  • Experience with process automation and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Knowledge of working capital optimisation and cash management
  • Familiarity with FLEX processes or similar governance frameworks
  • Experience supporting external and internal audit functions
  • Experience of working within a large international group
  • Leadership/development of a finance team
  • Effective communicator and influencer, both verbal and written, to peers, business partners and senior managers
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent)
