About the role
- Perform analyses and prepare samples
- Monitor cultures: algae, Daphnia, Ceriodaphnia, tête-de-boule, trout
- Maintain equipment related to cultures and analyses
- Maintain aquariums and open-system tanks
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy and quality of work
- Ensure quality control criteria are met for all reported data
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained
- Understand and troubleshoot analyses
- Contribute to corrective action procedures
- Ensure deadlines are met
- Use reports to plan and organize work
- Follow all laboratory safety rules and regulations
- Keep the workplace clean, tidy, and organized
- Contribute to daily and weekly planning
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or team lead.
Requirements
- Hold a diploma in bioecology or biology, or be graduating next spring
- Able to work independently or as part of a team
- Detail-oriented
- Dynamic, energetic, motivated, and have a positive attitude
