Chief Operating Officer

• Overall responsibility for the organization’s operational performance in close cooperation with the Federal Managing Director and the Chief Coordination Officer.
• Ensuring the internal organizational capability of projects, programs and cross-functional tasks.
• Liaison to the volunteer Federal Executive Management with responsibility for operational control and implementation.
• Planning, structuring and implementing business cases within Bundesverbraucherhilfe.
• Establishing, managing and further developing an economically viable business operation while respecting the organization’s non-profit status.
• Maintaining, expanding and managing strategic partnerships with external stakeholders.
• Identifying, initiating and actively implementing improvement measures in processes, workflows and structures.
• Close coordination with the Executive Board, department heads and staff units to ensure efficient operational processes.

General Counsel

• Establish and lead the legal department
• Structure, build and strategically develop a growing legal team
• Design processes for the efficient handling of legal matters
• Handle and prioritize consumer law inquiries
• Analyze, legally classify and professionally address consumer-law issues
• Develop standards for legal consumer advice
• Prepare expert opinions and guidelines
• Provide internal legal advice to the association
• Advise the Executive Board, divisional leadership and working groups on legal matters
• Manage and review contractual matters
• Legal assessment and administration of contracts with external partners
• Draft contracts related to projects, collaborations and memberships
• Provide legal support on association law
• Ensure legally compliant association structures and resolutions
• Contribute to bylaw/statute development, committee processes and compliance structures
• Represent the association in political and public contexts
• Provide legal support for political initiatives and consumer-protection legislation
• Legally position the association with ministries, authorities and stakeholders

Communications

• Strategic and operational leadership of the entire communications function at Bundesverbraucherhilfe.
• Development and implementation of a consistent communications strategy for internal and external audiences.
• Management of the Brand & Media Design, Strategic Communications, and Editorial departments.
• Responsibility for the quality, coherence and impact of all communications measures at national and European levels.
• Close collaboration with the Presidium (executive board) and other departments to align political and societal messaging.
• Oversight of media relations, press activities and social media strategies.
• Promotion of clear, credible, and brand-focused communication that strengthens Bundesverbraucherhilfe’s position as a leading consumer organization.
