About the role
- Provides finance analysis and input to support the Group and/or Unit activity
- Executes a range of financial analysis, preparation of reports and other finance activities to support Business Area/Unit finance priorities, working across the Finance teams as required
- Delivers forecasts and budgets in line with best practices and the broader business context, using appropriate numerical and statistical techniques
- Analyses and summarises financial data into concise financial reports to comply with standards and procedures and identifies data issues that are affecting productivity or compliance
- Supports all financial reporting cycles with relevant and accurate information, specifically the monthly results, statutory reports, short term forecasts/budgets and the strategic plan
- Supports the identification and management of risk through regular assessment and diligent execution of controls and mitigations, raising any concerns as appropriate
- Supports in the implementation of ways to improve working processes within area of responsibility and communicate issues and areas for improvement to business unit/area managers such as through supporting resolution of any data issues impacting productivity or compliance
- Keeps knowledge up to date on emerging trends and changes in financial planning principles and practices, sharing with team members
